Palmate Newts at Jamestone Quarry & Calf Hey....

Charlie Payne had this Palmate Newt on Sunday last (7th Sept 2008) at Jamestone Quarry.... I also remember years ago having them at Calf Hey Reservoir in a small pool which runs alongside the regular pathway which runs around the reservoir on the Musbury Heights side.... I hav'nt checked in recent years, they are probably still there...

Also closeby to this very point there used to be a large wooden gate which crossed the pathway and there was a sign that went across the top of this gate which read "Beware of the Adders".
