
Here is a cracking picture of "Broadholden" which now lies under Ogden Reservoir - the photo is pre 1902, however the reservoir was built in 1912.. The property is said to be 16th Century or possibly earlier and had a datestone 1765 Henry and Betty Hargreaves, it was possibly part of the Holden Estate... Occupied by the Kay family until Ogden Reservoir was built in 1912.
A Otter was caught in the brook running alongside the front of the house and is on display in the Rossendale Museum (Whittaker Park).....
